Home, Right-First-Time Precision Engineering Support

FJH Group supports engineering and manufacturing teams when capacity is stretched, tolerances are tight, or delivery risk is high. We step in to engineer the right solution, from CAD/CAM and workholding strategy to sourcing multi-axis manufacturing and component supply. With over 20 years of hands-on industry experience, we work as an extension of your engineering team to reduce risk, shorten lead times, and deliver parts to specification.

All manufacturing partners are fully audited and accredited to ISO9001, AS9100, ISO14001, ISO45001, and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Recognised for Leadership and Strategy, The Manufacturer Top 100, 2023.

Services

Engineering support across the full manufacturing cycle. We help engineering teams overcome internal capacity limits, translate CAD data into robust manufacturing processes, design bespoke workholding and fixture strategies, source high-quality subcontract manufacturing, and accelerate development with industrial 3D printing.

Engineering Applications

Hands-on CAD/CAM and process support from qualified mechanical engineers. We provide CAD, CAM and virtual simulation using Mastercam, Siemens NX, EdgeCAM, Fusion360 and CAM Assist. Manufacturing methodology design consulting and collaborating with your team to develop bespoke processes using your existing equipment, including DMG Mori, Doosan, Makino, Matsuura, Mazak and Spinner machines. Process validation and handover: thorough prove-out of production processes with experienced CNC operators, handing off to your staff at project conclusion. Analysis capabilities include FEA, MBD, PFMEA and DFMEA.

Workholding and Fixturing

Bespoke workholding and fixture design for CNC machining centres. We collaborate to analyse geometries, material characteristics and machining methods, then design solutions optimising stability, accessibility and repeatability. Solutions range from simple manual vises to advanced fixtures incorporating PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, automation and sensor technology. Delivered for aerospace, nuclear, defence and automotive applications. We also supply the Jergens USA standard workholding range in collaboration with Manufacturing Productivity Solutions Ltd.

Subcontract Manufacturing

Access to an audited, ISO-accredited manufacturing partner network for reliable multi-axis CNC component production, from single prototypes to full run volumes. All partners hold ISO9001, AS9100, ISO14001, ISO45001 and Cyber Essentials Plus. We manage the full supply chain: sourcing, quality oversight and delivery to specification.

3D Printing for Industry

Industrial additive manufacturing for rapid prototyping and complex geometry production. Accelerates development cycles, enables geometries not possible with conventional methods, and reduces production risk. Used to validate designs before committing to subcontract manufacture.

Projects, Streamlining Manufacturing, Case Study

Client: Brown and Holmes (Tamworth) Ltd. Challenge: A new production order required immediate development of a robust, repeatable manufacturing process for two component variants. Internal engineers were engaged on other projects, a short-term external intervention was needed to meet customer timelines.

Approach: An FJH Group mechanical engineer went on-site at Brown and Holmes. Using CAM and virtual simulation, we designed a streamlined manufacturing process, validated it on the customer's DMG Mori CNC machining centre, refined tooling selection and programme, then handed over the completed process to their staff.

Outcome: Saved the client weeks of internal engineering time. Team took over a fully proven and optimised operation. FJH provided ongoing aftersales support through ramp-up to full-rate production.

Projects, Engineering Design, Case Study

Client: Niche industry manufacturer (confidential). Challenge: Customer devised a new product concept, a multi-tool to streamline their kit-sets. They understood the functional and dimensional requirements but lacked the engineering expertise to produce a manufacturable design for a new-to-market product.

Approach: FJH Group mechanical engineer collaborated with the customer to understand the full application remit, then designed the first iteration of the new tool using CAD. 3D printing was used to rapidly produce design iterations for field testing and validation.

Outcome: Successful validation led to FJH supplying and continuing to provide subcontract manufacture of the product. The end-to-end engineering solution opened further innovation opportunities for the client.

Partners, Mastercam

FJH Group is a Mastercam partner. Mastercam delivers innovative CAD/CAM software and solutions for manufacturing. Features include advanced milling toolpaths, mill-turn, Y/A axis turning, Mastercam Deburr for automated edge detection, thread mill enhancements, and high-speed finishing passes. Used across aerospace, automotive, defence, medical and industrial manufacturing. Mastercam 2025 introduces the most intuitive interface yet with new deburr, Y-axis turning support and thread milling enhancements.

Partners, CAM Assist for Mastercam

FJH Group is a CAM Assist partner. CAM Assist is AI-powered CAM automation integrated with Mastercam. Key capabilities: completes 80% of CAM programming using AI; programmers achieve up to 7x more programs per day; automated fixture designer generates custom soft jaw designs in seconds, cutting 40 minutes from CAD to first cut on average; integrated Cutting Parameters Explorer adjusts speeds and feeds in real-time; minimum 20% productivity gains in machining operations. US and UK-based support available.

Customer results: programming time reduced from 1 hour to 12 minutes per part; eliminated need to hire additional programmers; significant improvement in right-first-time rates.
